Jason Derulo is once again in hot water for allegedly promoting shady crypto projects. On-chain detective ZachXBT has called out the singer, claiming that he is using new tokens to deceive fans, just as he did in the past. Derulo’s history with crypto has been controversial. In September 2024, ZachXBT revealed that the singer had promoted over 15 scam-related cryptocurrencies. Many of these projects ended in rug pulls, leaving investors at a loss.
Despite this, it seems he’s gearing up for another memecoin launch. After news of his involvement surfaced, Twitter users didn’t hold back. On Twitter, users quickly pointed out his past failures. One person wrote, “After the resounding failure of his first token, which ended in a rug pull, Jason Derulo seems ready to relaunch a new memecoin project with @JasonDcoin.”
ZachXBT also reminded followers of Derulo’s past statements, where he had promised long-term commitment to the crypto space, only to go silent on his own project. The detective noted that Derulo had recently promoted a Tron-based meme coin but deleted the post shortly after. With his track record, skepticism is high. Whether this new memecoin is any different from the previous ones remains to be seen, but many in the crypto community aren’t buying it.
