Solana Mobile’s Seeker to Ship on August 4 with SKR Tokens

Solana Mobile, the hardware branch of blockchain company Solana Labs, has shared big updates about its crypto smartphone and the ecosystem it’s building around it. The company confirmed that its new phone, Seeker, will start shipping globally on August 4, 2025.  Alongside this, Solana Mobile introduced TEEPIN, a new decentralized network, and SKR, a native token that will play a key role in its Web3 mobile ecosystem.
Seeker is the second-generation phone after Solana’s first model, Saga. While Saga struggled to gain traction initially, it eventually sold out thanks to token airdrops that caught the attention of crypto fans.  The new Seeker phone has already generated strong interest, with more than 150,000 pre-orders from 57 countries. It’s available now for an early adopter price of $500.
The device comes with new features like a hardware Seed Vault, Genesis Token, Seed Vault Wallet, Seeker ID, and an improved Solana dApp Store. These upgrades aim to offer a safer, more user-friendly way for people to engage with decentralized apps on the blockchain. To support a wider and more open mobile ecosystem, Solana Mobile developed TEEPIN, which stands for Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network.
TEEPIN is a three-layer system designed to keep mobile devices and apps secure without relying on a central authority. Instead, trust is verified through cryptography, making the system more open and decentralized. Anatoly Yakovenko, Solana Labs’ co-founder and CEO, said, “TEEPIN represents the next evolution in mobile — a framework where trust isn’t granted by a central authority but verified through cryptography.” This approach uses existing secure hardware inside phones and blockchain technology to give users and developers more control.
Another important piece is the SKR token, which will power the economic incentives and ownership within the Solana Mobile ecosystem. Emmett Hollyer, General Manager at Solana Mobile, explained that SKR changes the usual mobile business model. “Instead of being passive consumers in someone else’s walled garden, users, developers, and hardware manufacturers become active stewards of a community-owned digital infrastructure,” he said. In short, Solana Mobile is aiming to create a secure, open, and decentralized mobile experience with Seeker, TEEPIN, and SKR all playing key roles. With shipping set for August, early adopters have a chance to join this new wave of Web3 mobile technology.
