Samsung Brings USDC to 82 Million Galaxy Devices With Coinbase, Solana and Sui

Samsung Electronics is bringing USDC stablecoin transfers directly into Samsung Wallet through partnerships with Coinbase, Bastion, Solana and Sui. Launching during the final week of October, the new service will allow eligible U.S. Galaxy users to send digital dollars internationally, transfer money to bank accounts in more than 60 countries and access blockchain-powered payments without downloading a separate cryptocy application.

Samsung Wallet Becomes a Gateway to Stablecoins

Samsung announced that its upcoming stablecoin functionality will be available across approximately 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the United States.

Instead of requiring users to download a crypto exchange or create a separate blockchain wallet, USDC will be integrated into the existing Samsung Wallet interface alongside payment cards, identification, tickets and other digital essentials.

The service will initially support USD Coin (USDC), the dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Circle.

Eligible users will be able to:

  • Send USDC to compatible cryptocy wallets internationally

  • Transfer money to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries

  • Have recipients receive funds in their local cy

  • Authorize transfers using biometric authentication

  • Access stablecoin functionality without managing private keys

Samsung says it will not charge a transfer fee for USDC sent to compatible crypto wallets, although receiving platforms may charge fees. Bank-account transfers will carry fees that vary by destination and amount.

Coinbase Will Secure USDC Through Prime Vault

Coinbase will provide the custody infrastructure behind Samsung Wallet’s new stablecoin functionality.

When customers add funds to their stablecoin balance, USDC will appear as the default dollar stablecoin.

The assets will be safeguarded through Coinbase Prime Vault, the company’s institutional custody platform, in partnership with Bastion, which provides regulated stablecoin accounts, compliance and money-movement infrastructure.

This expands Samsung’s existing relationship with Coinbase, which already includes Samsung Pay integration and Coinbase One benefits for eligible Galaxy users.

Importantly, Samsung is not becoming a bank or cryptocy custodian. Customer funds and stablecoin services will be handled by its regulated financial partners.

Solana and Sui Power Blockchain Transfers

Samsung also selected Solana and Sui as blockchain infrastructure partners.

Both networks are designed to support fast, low-cost digital asset transfers, making them suitable for consumer payments and international remittances.

Solana will provide blockchain settlement infrastructure for supported stablecoin transactions, while Sui will enable USDC transfers through its network.

Sui’s gasless transaction capabilities allow supported USDC transfers without requiring users to purchase SUI tokens to pay network fees.

The Sui integration supports USDC only at launch, not the SUI cryptocy itself.

The blockchain technology will operate largely behind the scenes, allowing customers to send digital dollars without needing to understand gas fees, blockchain addresses or other technical aspects of cryptocy.

International Money Transfers Reach 60 Countries

One of the most significant features is Samsung’s planned support for transfers to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries.

A Galaxy user in the United States could initiate an international transfer through Samsung Wallet, while an eligible recipient receives the money directly in their local cy.

The recipient would not need to own cryptocy or maintain a blockchain wallet.

This approach could make stablecoins more accessible to consumers who want faster international payments without directly interacting with crypto exchanges.

However, supported countries, bank eligibility, transaction fees and delivery times will depend on the destination and payment provider.

Samsung Plans Future Stablecoin Payments at Stores

Samsung’s ambitions extend beyond international money transfers.

The company is exploring additional functionality that could eventually allow customers to pay with stablecoins online or tap their Galaxy devices at physical stores.

Those capabilities remain under consideration, and Samsung has not announced launch dates.

The company also plans to expand stablecoin availability beyond the United States as local regulations permit.

The initial rollout is scheduled for the last week of October 2026 and will be limited to eligible U.S. residents aged 18 or older using compatible Galaxy devices.

Stablecoins Move Closer to Everyday Banking

Samsung’s announcement represents another significant step toward bringing blockchain payments into mainstream consumer technology.

Rather than asking customers to adopt unfamiliar cryptocy applications, Samsung is integrating stablecoins into a digital wallet millions of people already use.

The partnership combines several important pieces of financial infrastructure:

  • Samsung — Consumer wallet and Galaxy devices

  • Coinbase — USDC custody through Prime Vault

  • Bastion — Regulated accounts and payment infrastructure

  • Solana and Sui — Blockchain transaction networks

The significance extends beyond cryptocy adoption.

By combining stablecoins, regulated custody, blockchain settlement and familiar mobile payment experiences, Samsung is helping demonstrate how digital dollars could become part of everyday financial transactions.

With 82 million compatible U.S. Galaxy devices and bank transfers planned across more than 60 countries, Samsung’s USDC integration could become one of the largest consumer-facing stablecoin rollouts to date.
