Podcast co-hosts Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings from Earn Your Leisure are launching a financial literacy curriculum in 10 public high schools in New York City’s Bronx neighborhood.
Reflecting on their own experiences, they observed a lack of financial education during their adolescence and recognized the continued need for it in schools today. The curriculum covers various modules, including investing, entrepreneurship, savings, and credit. Having previously taught high school students about stock ownership, the duo plans to expand their initiative to the entire Bronx school district by 2025, emphasizing the importance of financial education for young adults.
