Google has introduced the beta version of its new AI-powered video creation tool, Google Vids, to a select group of users within its Workspace application suite for businesses. The company announced the launch on Monday through an email to users and a forum post by a Google community manager.
Google in an email announcement, described the tool as “an AI-powered video creation app that’s designed for work and deeply integrated with the Workspace suite you use every day.”
Google Vids utilizes the company’s Gemini AI and Vertex AI technologies to generate customizable presentations based on user prompts. The tool incorporates text, audio, and video elements, allowing users to create professional-looking presentations efficiently.
One notable feature of Google Vids is its diverse voice options. Users can choose from various tones, including energetic, friendly, and calm, in different English dialects such as American, British, and Australian.
The initial rollout of Google Vids is limited to “a select group of trusted testers” within Google Workspace Labs. This helps Google improve the tool based on user feedback before more people can use it.
Google first mentioned this video tool in April, along with other additions to its Gemini AI. In May, Google announced many AI-powered features for its Workspace tools. While most of these new features were for regular users, Google Vids is currently only for business and enterprise accounts.
