The developers of Rumble Kong League (RKL) have introduced significant updates to the tokenomics of their upcoming $FAME token. The revisions primarily focus on adjusting emission schedules, modifying vesting periods, and redistributing token supply allocations. These changes aim to create a more balanced distribution model while ensuring smoother integration into the game’s growing ecosystem.
Rumble Kong League offers a competitive 3 vs 3 basketball experience integrating play-to-earn mechanics and an NFT Collection. The game features 10,000 unique ERC-721 tokens known as Kongs, each with randomly generated attributes that impact gameplay. This blend of blockchain and traditional gaming elements includes collectibles, social avatars, algorithmic gameplay, and play-to-earn capabilities. Rumble Kong League introduces a distinctive universe of NFTs, combining innovative features with digital value. The game recently migrated from Avalanche to the Ronin blockchain.
One of the most notable changes in the updated tokenomics is the increase in the number of tokens released at the Token Generation Event (TGE). Initially, 896 million tokens, representing 12.8% of the total supply, were set to be unlocked at launch. However, the revised plan now raises this figure to approximately 1.7 billion tokens, which accounts for about 25.3% of the 7 billion total supply. This adjustment stems from modifications in the vesting schedules for key allocation categories, particularly the Community and Ecosystem sections.
The Community allocation, which primarily benefits NFT holders, has seen a reduction in its vesting period from 24 months to 18 months. While the total supply allocated to this category remains at 30%, the unlock schedule has changed significantly. Under the previous plan, only 20% of this allocation would be available at TGE, equating to 6% of the total supply. With the update, 40% of the Community allocation now unlocks at TGE, effectively doubling the number of tokens available at launch from this category to 12% of the total supply.
The Ecosystem allocation, on the other hand, now has a longer vesting period of 48 months instead of 24. Despite the extended schedule, the percentage of this allocation unlocking at TGE has increased from 15% to 30%, raising its immediate share of the total supply from 3% to 4.5%. Additionally, the total number of tokens reserved for the Ecosystem has been reduced from 1.4 billion to 1.05 billion, lowering its overall share from 20% to 15%. This change is partly due to a restructuring of the tokenomics framework, where allocations previously included in the Ecosystem category—such as those reserved for social campaigns and the first play-to-airdrop season—are now categorized separately.
A new category, Social Fi, has been introduced with an allocation of 210 million tokens, representing 3% of the total supply. Similarly, P2A SZN 1, which accounts for the first play-to-airdrop season, has been allocated 140 million tokens, making up 2% of the total supply. Both of these newly defined categories will have their tokens fully unlocked at TGE, with no vesting period applied. As a result, all participants in the initial soft launch of the mobile basketball game who earned $FAME points through gameplay will have their rewards entirely unlocked on the day of the TGE.
Initially, the launch of the $FAME token was planned for late January or early February 2025. However, the developers have confirmed that the TGE has been postponed to late February 2025. While an exact date has not been provided, it has been confirmed that the token will be launched on the Solana blockchain and will feature gamified staking mechanics. The $FAME token is designed to function as a key component of a multi-sport ecosystem, leveraging blockchain technology to integrate sports culture within the web3 space.
Ahead of the token launch, Rumble Kong League’s second season is set to begin on February 17, 2025. This new season will introduce major updates, including gameplay improvements, a revamped league system, a new mini-game, and the ability to wager Fame Points. The developers have not yet confirmed whether players who participate in Season 2 will receive an airdrop similar to those who took part in the first season.
The updated tokenomics overview explicitly references only the first season regarding airdrop allocations, suggesting that any potential rewards for Season 2 participants may come from the Ecosystem category and could be claimed later. With these changes, the revised tokenomics model aims to create a more structured distribution while ensuring that early participants in Rumble Kong League’s ecosystem receive their earned rewards at the time of launch. More details on the airdrop claiming process and additional gameplay updates are expected to be released soon.
