Decrypt Launches Solana Crypto Accounts That Turn News Readers Into Traders

Cryptocurrency news platform Decrypt has launched Decrypt Money Accounts, a self-custodial financial service built on Solana that allows readers to manage digital assets and access trading products directly through its media platform. The new accounts are designed to support stablecoin balances, cryptocurrency swaps, prediction markets, yield-generating products and perpetual futures through a single interface, marking a significant expansion of Decrypt’s business beyond traditional Web3 journalism.

Decrypt Combines Crypto News With Financial Services

Decrypt Money Accounts are now live on the Solana blockchain, allowing users to maintain a single balance in Tether’s USDT stablecoin while accessing financial products within Decrypt’s ecosystem.

The platform is part of a broader initiative called The Information Exchange, which aims to combine cryptocurrency journalism, market intelligence and trading opportunities.

According to Decrypt co-founder Ilan Hazan, the goal is to let users move directly from researching financial developments to accessing related markets without managing multiple wallets or blockchain networks.

The platform’s planned capabilities include:

  • Earn: Access to yield-generating cryptocurrency products.

  • Swaps: Exchange supported digital assets.

  • Predictions: Trade contracts tied to real-world events.

  • Perpetual Futures: Access leveraged cryptocurrency trading products.

  • Unified Balance: Use one USDT balance across supported services.

Although the accounts are live, additional trading features and integrations will be introduced gradually over the coming weeks.

Solana Powers Self-Custodial Accounts Without Gas Fees

Decrypt selected Solana as the foundation for its new financial infrastructure.

Users can deposit USDT and access supported products without needing to purchase SOL separately to cover blockchain transaction fees.

The platform sponsors network gas and account-related fees through a fee-payer system, simplifying the experience for users unfamiliar with blockchain transactions.

Decrypt does not hold customers’ private keys and cannot execute transactions on their behalf.

Users will also be able to export their private keys to compatible Solana wallets, although that functionality is not yet available.

Self-custody reduces dependence on a centralized custodian but does not eliminate smart-contract, trading or wallet-security risks.

Myriad Connects Prediction Markets Across Blockchains

The platform is integrated with Myriad, the prediction-market infrastructure associated with Decrypt.

Existing Myriad Wallet users can access Decrypt Money Accounts without migrating to a new wallet.

One notable feature is the ability to interact with markets operating on different blockchains through a single Solana-based balance.

For example, Myriad prediction markets settle on BNB Chain, but users can access those markets without manually transferring assets through a blockchain bridge.

The system handles cross-chain operations behind the scenes.

MYR Token Will Support The Information Exchange

Decrypt’s broader financial ecosystem will also incorporate the upcoming MYR token, which the company describes as an economic coordination layer connecting its media and financial products.

The Information Exchange brings together three major components:

  • Decrypt: Cryptocurrency journalism and market information.

  • Myriad: Prediction-market and financial infrastructure.

  • MYR: A planned token supporting the ecosystem’s economic coordination.

Decrypt expects to expand its offerings with spot trading, perpetual futures and additional event-based financial products.

New capabilities are scheduled for a staggered rollout leading into Solana Breakpoint.

Crypto Journalism Moves Toward Interactive Financial Platforms

Decrypt’s announcement represents a notable shift in the cryptocurrency media business.

Rather than relying exclusively on advertising, subscriptions or sponsored content, the company is developing financial products that connect readers directly with market activity.

The strategy could introduce new revenue opportunities for digital publishers while giving audiences access to financial tools within the same environment where they consume information.

However, combining journalism with trading products also raises questions about editorial independence, conflicts of interest, financial regulation and consumer protection.

For readers, the distinction between independent reporting and financial product promotion will remain important.

Decrypt’s Solana launch illustrates how Web3 media companies are exploring business models that combine information, blockchain infrastructure and financial services into a single platform.
