Bybit Takes Wall Street 24/7 With SpaceX and Nvidia Options That Never Close

Bybit is pushing deeper into traditional markets with a new product that combines crypto-style perpetual contracts with stock options. Beginning September 17, the exchange will offer 24/7 options tied to SpaceX and Nvidia perpetuals, allowing eligible traders to speculate or hedge around the clock instead of waiting for traditional U.S. market hours.

The crypto exchange calls the product “Perp Options” and says they are the industry’s first options contracts built on stock perpetuals. The initial contracts will track SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA)

Stock Options Without Wall Street’s Schedule

Traditional U.S. stock options operate primarily around established exchange hours and typically represent 100 shares per standard contract.

Bybit is removing both of those limitations.

Its Perp Options will offer:

  • 24/7 trading, including weekends
  • Fractional lots with no 100-share minimum
  • Profit and loss settled in USDT
  • Integration with Bybit’s Unified Trading Account
  • Portfolio margin
  • Strategies including calls, puts, spreads, straddles and covered calls

That means a crypto trader could potentially react to a major Nvidia or SpaceX development on a Saturday instead of waiting for traditional markets to reopen.

These Aren’t Actual SpaceX or Nvidia Shares

There is an important distinction between Bybit’s product and buying stock through a brokerage.

The options are based on stock perpetual contracts, not direct ownership of the underlying shares. Bybit’s Nvidia perpetual, for example, tracks NVDA’s price but does not provide Nvidia shares, voting rights or dividends.

The structure essentially adds another derivatives layer:

Stock → stock perpetual → option on the perpetual

Bybit’s existing TradFi perpetuals use many of the same mechanics crypto traders already know, including USDT margin, funding rates and the ability to go long or short.

Tesla and More Stocks Are Coming Next

SpaceX and Nvidia are only the beginning.

Bybit says future Perp Options are planned for:

Tesla (TSLA), Invesco QQQ (QQQ), Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL) and Micron (MU).

New expiration dates will also be added regularly.

The expansion gives Bybit another way to blur the line between a traditional brokerage and a cryptocy exchange.

Crypto Traders Are Already Pouring Into Stock Perps

The timing isn’t accidental.

Trading volume for tokenized-equity perpetuals reportedly climbed from approximately $85 billion in January to $470 billion in June. SpaceX alone generated more than $66 billion in equity-perp trading volume during June, making it the most actively traded equity perpetual.

Other crypto platforms are moving in the same direction. OKX launched more than 20 equity perpetual swaps earlier this year, including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and other major stocks.

Meanwhile, platforms including Coinbase, Kraken and Robinhood have been expanding tokenized-stock or around-the-clock equity offerings as crypto infrastructure increasingly crosses into traditional finance.

Wall Street’s Closing Bell Is Starting to Matter Less

Bybit’s launch represents something bigger than adding SpaceX and Nvidia to another trading menu.

Crypto markets trained investors to expect 24/7 access, fractional positions and instant global trading. Those expectations are now spilling into stocks, commodities and other traditional assets.

There are additional risks. Perpetual contracts can involve leverage and funding costs, and prices can behave differently when the underlying stock market is closed. Bybit itself warns that spreads can widen and gaps can occur when traditional markets reopen.

Still, the direction is becoming clear.

Crypto exchanges aren’t limiting themselves to crypto anymore. They’re rebuilding pieces of Wall Street around the 24/7 trading model that crypto introduced.

Bybit’s SpaceX and Nvidia Perp Options launch on September 17 at 8 p.m. UTC for eligible users.
