Bitget Wallet is expanding deeper into tokenized real-world assets through an integration with Reality, giving its more than 100 million users access to over 1,700 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs directly from a self-custodial crypto wallet. The integration allows eligible users to gain economic exposure to companies including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla and Amazon without moving their funds offchain or opening a traditional brokerage account.
The integration adds Reality’s rTokens to Bitget Wallet alongside existing tokenized-equity providers Ondo Finance and xStocks.
Reality’s tokens are designed to track traditional U.S. stocks and ETFs, with examples including:
The offering initially operates on Arbitrum and Morph, while Bitget Wallet’s cross-chain routing allows users to access supported rTokens using assets held across different blockchain networks.
Reality says each rToken is backed 1:1 by the corresponding underlying security, with those securities held through Alpaca Securities, a FINRA-registered U.S. broker-dealer.
Reality also says reserves receive daily independent attestations.
During regular U.S. market hours, orders can be routed to liquidity connected to Nasdaq and NYSE markets, rather than depending exclusively on isolated onchain liquidity pools.
However, buying an rToken isn’t the same as directly purchasing the underlying stock. rToken holders aren’t registered shareholders and don’t receive shareholder voting rights.
The blockchain-based structure also introduces features that aren’t normally available with stocks sitting inside a traditional brokerage account.
Eligible cash dividends can be distributed directly to users in USDT, while events such as stock splits are automatically reflected in the corresponding tokens.
Reality also describes rTokens as DeFi-composable, potentially allowing supported tokenized equities to eventually serve functions such as collateral within decentralized-finance applications.
Adding Reality gives Bitget Wallet three tokenized-equity providers — Reality, Ondo and xStocks — as the company attempts to build a broader marketplace connecting crypto capital with traditional financial assets.
There’s one detail worth watching: Bitget’s announcement advertises more than 1,700 stocks and ETFs, while some of its related product documentation has referenced a smaller number. The exact number of assets immediately tradable across every market and jurisdiction may therefore vary.
The Bitget integration is another example of the line between traditional finance and crypto becoming increasingly blurred.
Instead of moving stablecoins to a centralized exchange, converting them to fiat and transferring that money into a brokerage account, eligible users can potentially move directly between crypto and tokenized equity exposure while maintaining self-custody.
With more than 100 million users and access to Reality, Ondo and xStocks, Bitget Wallet is positioning tokenized stocks as another asset class that can live alongside crypto inside the same onchain portfolio.
