Binance Charity is providing up to $1.5 million in Binance Coin (BNB) to support affected users by the catastrophic flooding in Central Europe caused by Storm Boris. As per the announcement, Binance Coin (BNB) will be distributed to Binance users identified as living in the hardest-hit regions of Poland, Romania, and Czechia.
The floods have caused severe damage, destroying homes, personal belongings, and tragically, resulting in loss of life. Binance will distribute BNB to affected users who complete Proof of Address (POA) by September 18th, 2024, confirming they live in the disaster zones. Each eligible user will receive $50 in BNB directly into their Binance accounts, with the first batch of funds available on October 1st, 2024.
For users who complete POA after September 18th but before October 11th, 2024, Binance will donate an additional $25 in BNB as a gesture of extended support. This is aimed at ensuring that all impacted users have a chance to benefit from the initiative.
Binance General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Kyrylo Khomyakov, highlighted the goal of the donation: “We hope that our users who receive these donations can put them to best use locally, whether for the needs of themselves or their loved ones or for the local communities where it is needed most.” The initiative, led by Binance Charity, aims to ease the financial hardships caused by the disaster. The funds can be used for personal needs or to help local communities recover.
