Ben Armstrong, the crypto influencer known as “BitBoy,” was taken into custody late last month in Cherokee County, Georgia, and charged with six counts of harassing phone calls, according to public jail booking records obtained from VINE. The arrest occurred in the early hours of June 27, and a mugshot of Armstrong was published shortly after by The Georgia Gazette, which aggregates public arrest data across the state.
Records from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office show that Armstrong was released on June 28 after posting bail. He is currently out of custody, but may still be facing charges. Armstrong has issued no official statement as of now. The specific details surrounding the harassment allegations have not yet been made public.
This comes after Armstrong was arrested in Volusia County, Florida, in March on a fugitive warrant for allegedly sending threatening emails to a judge. Armstrong had referenced the warrant days earlier on X. The case adds to a growing list of legal troubles and controversies that have followed Armstrong since his fall from prominence in the crypto space, including a prior arrest in 2023.
