Americans Can Now Donate XRP and RLUSD for Education

Americans can now donate XRP and RLUSD to support education through a new partnership between Ripple and The Giving Block. The Giving Block helps nonprofits accept crypto donations and convert them into usable funds. With this donors can easily support classrooms and teachers with digital currencies. Pat Duffy, co-founder of The Giving Block, said, “We’re proud to partner with Ripple to empower nonprofits like DonorsChoose and Teach For America with the tools they need to fundraise in the digital age.”

Since 2018, Ripple has donated over $200 million to universities and nonprofits around the world. This latest initiative focuses on bringing more resources to U.S. classrooms quickly and efficiently. Moreover, the company recently donated $25 million using RLUSD and has already helped fund more than 31,000 classroom projects on DonorsChoose. This will be used to support over 21,000 teachers in 13,000 schools across the country.

Meanwhile, Teach For America is using part of the funds to provide transition stipends to 2,500 new members who will reach nearly 300,000 students nationwide. Also, Stablecoins like RLUSD are growing in popularity for charity because they are fast, have low fees, and are available all the time. In 2022 and 2023, stablecoins were the most donated cryptocurrencies on The Giving Block’s platform.

According to Ripple, many U.S. classrooms still lack needed supplies. Nearly 9 out of 10 public schools have teachers asking for extra resources on DonorsChoose. Teach For America supports students in 40 underserved regions, but demand still outpaces funds. Ripple’s donation will support programs like the Ignite tutoring program and a new STEM Innovation Challenge.
