Pharrell Williams, who was brought on as the Doodles Chief Brand Officer in 2022, will produce the soundtrack, while Lil Wayne and Coi Leray will star in the film as voice actors, playing Captain Stoke and Deysi respectively. The company aims to debut the film in summer of 2024 at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a global release.
Golden Wolf, which Doodles acquired in 2023, will produce the film. It is an award-winning studio created in 2013 that has worked on projects for Nickelodeon, Adult Swim, and Coca-Cola. Doodles CEO Julian Holguin remarked in an X thread that Doodles had been looking to create a film based on the characters in the NFT collection for two years but didn’t want to relinquish creative control.
Scott, ‘Burnt Toast,’ Martin, Doodles co-founder and illustrator, will direct the film.
Since the announcement, sales from the Doodles original NFT collection have shot up by 8% at this time of writing, according to statistics from CryptoSlam. The floor price reached a height of 1.8 ETH ($6,000) yesterday afternoon, but has since fallen to 1.6 ETH ($5,300).
